Hello Connectors,

As we settle into the holiday season, it is a great time to focus on the important things in life. For me, I would like to focus on being grateful for the gifts in my life, such as, family and friends. As the year comes to a close, I find myself looking back on the year to determine what worked, what did not work, what I would like to continue in the new year and what I would like to leave behind. It has been quite the busy year for Connects Workspace and myself personally. We launched Connects Workspace Red Rocks in December 2022 and have had an amazing year creating a core community. Josh Hicks has been instrumental in continuing the values of Connects Workspace at our Red Rocks location.

In August 2023, we launched Connects Idaho Springs as a partnership with a local business owner. While we were excited to bring coworking to the Idaho Springs community, just four months later, we have decided to terminate the Idaho Springs relationship. I have learned many lessons with this short-lived venture. As I thought about writing this note, I felt my confidence in myself and my intuition waning, but as I thought of each of you and the challenges that you have set for yourselves, the accomplishments, the times that you have fallen short, I realize that you are the most understanding, because you are in the fight with me.

I love this Teddy Roosevelt quote, "It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood; who strives valiantly; who errs, who comes short again and again, because there is no effort without error and shortcoming; but who does actually strive to do the deeds; who knows great enthusiasms, the great devotions; who spends himself in a worthy cause; who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement, and who at the worst, if he fails, at least fails while daring greatly, so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who neither know victory nor defeat.”

Connects Workspace has had many opportunities and wins over the past 8 1/2 years.  Thank you for being a soft place to land as we navigate this closure.  I am grateful for each and every one of you!
As you look back on your year, I hope that you can find the good in the hard.

You should contact my friend… What about targeting this market?” - these are the common questions you’ll hear on Wednesday mornings.
